I hope the Bolt Bus works out for you. In June, I took Vamoose to New York. $50 round trip. After you buy four one-way tickets you get a free one-way ticket. The bus was fine, we made good time and we didn't stop either way, although I don't think we left on time. Vamoose does provide a phone number and I think someone actually answers calls. I took the Bolt Bus back in June for a short weekend trip up to NYC. I had never taken it either, and was skeptical after hearing various rumours about their service. But I heard about their $1 fare and figured it was worth a shot.

It was great! I had a better experience than I did with any other Chinatown bus carrier (I've tried a few). They arrived relatively on time, the drivers were extremely friendly -- going to NYC and coming back to DC. Didn't make any stops but made good time. The buses were nice; leather seats, extra leg room and free wifi, as advertised with an plug outlet for your laptop etc in each seat. The free internet shocked me the most. Everyone was on their computers!

Definitely worth it overall in my opinion. I hope it is as consistent and enjoyable for you.

Those bus lines are pretty awesome. They have saved me a fortune, not having to buy plane tickets. You should check out www.busjunction.com, it is a search engine for a lot of the newer bus lines.
